The COLORWAYS COLLECTION directly transcribes the artist’s time spent exploring the Pennsylvania Wilds to silk. A galaxy you can hold in your hands; add the DARK SKIES of the PAWilds to your wardrobe or gift the silken mixture of navy, sapphire, black, and purple as a reminder of nights spent under a starry sky. Each soft 8x54” scarf is painted by the artist in her in-home studio located in the PA Wilds.
The design of each scarf will vary due to the process of painting on silk. Each and every piece is a unique one-of-a-kind, just like the person who wears it. Once painted, Julie wraps each piece separately and sets the dye permanently to the silk fibers using steam. She has chosen to use steam in order to avoid the use of chemicals for all of her silk art.
