did you know?

The term dogs days of summer has nothing to do with cranky dogs.

Colorful CRitters

MATERIALS NEEDED:

• 8.5 x 11 inch acetate sheets (one per student)
• black fine point Sharpie marker 
• 10 assorted washable markers (red, blue, purple, brown)
• 8 x 10 inch watercolor paper (one sheet per student)
• 2 or 3 water spritz bottles (share across class)
• assorted 8 x 10 photos of pets or animals of interest to the students**
• watercolor paint set (one per student)
• pipettes (one per student)
• assortment of small and medium sized watercolor brushes (share across class)
• access to a bowl or container for water (one per student)
• paper toweling or access to a "terp" for each student
• blowdryers (to be used by staff)
• 15+ paint pens in white and assorted bright colors (share across class)
• **Themed calendars and magazines are a good source for crisp clear reference photos.  Close-up images with very little background area will be the most successful for this project.
