BABY Owls in the snow
prep:Time will be saved with paper already being prepped and taped for the peeps.
PART 1 TIPs: If there is a concern for the artist's ability to work around the owl shapes I suggest cutting ovals from contact paper and placing the pieces over the owls to protect the area from the blue sky creeping in.
If blue paint does move onto the owls - don't panic, lift the blue paint away the best you can using a kleenex while damp. Once the paint is completely dry you can try to "lift" a bit more using a damp brush - however do expect some staining. It will simply give the owl a touch of shading/shadow...no problem!
have the artists create a niche puddle of blue paint to work from so that their paint is not too instense and dry. they will need to work fairly quickly to paint the sky and lift the clouds away. try to avoid the peeps creating such a wet wash that there are puddles.
If there are puddles - allow time for the wet areas to evaporate a bit so that the technique of lifting the clouds with the kleenex will work. (if the area is too damp/wet the paint will quickly move to fill the sky back in with blue).
